The Making of Five | Six Textiles F|W 2016 Collection
The Making of F | W 2016 Collection
We all curate our homes to represent our lives and ambitions. Our living spaces exhibit the discoveries and stories that have shaped our lifestyles and aesthetic. Five | Six Textiles embraces this and relishes the human connections we make while buying goods for our homes. That is why we have collaborated with the weaving collective of Waraniénee to create a line of home goods that embraces and preserves their traditions and reflects our renewed love of thoughtful modern decor.
TOMORROW we are launching our Fall | Winter 2016 collection. Not only will this collection be available for purchase through our e-Commerce site, but it will also be available for purchase IN PERSON at our stand at Bulletin Market in Williamsburg, Brooklyn September 24 and 25.
We spent over a year prototyping, refining and collaborating with our artisans to create this collection. It is our final product and we couldn’t be more excited to finally share it with you.
Design Inspiration - We decided to focus on patterns that celebrate Waraniéné’s weaving heritage while showcasing new designs they developed over the years. The wonderfully geometric Artisanal pattern, which is available as a bedspread or pillow, was one of the first motifs the weavers ever created, while the striking Sirisiri, also available as a bedspread or pillow, is the result of playing with new methods of Ikat dying. All of our goods are handcrafted and slowly produced, each one truly unique.
Five | Six Textiles celebrates craftsmanship perfected through generations and high quality products that honor the history of the human hand that made it.
