Five | Six Project

Preserving the past to support a future for West African textiles.

Five | Six Project Supports indigenous textile art practices in Côte d’Ivoire.

At Five | Six Project, our goal is to preserve and advance the textile arts of Côte d'Ivoire. This stems from our belief that art and design are tools to change our world. By supporting the designers and artisans who originated this craft, we can help ensure that the development of these practices remains intact for millennia.

Handwoven textiles are vehicles by which individuals pass down values and artistic practices to future generations. The processes to preserve this craft are already in place, but the craftspeople require additional funding to sustain these practices. Our project is designed to support and not direct these programs, working at the grassroots level with local leaders, craftspeople, and stakeholders to avoid exploitation of people, environment, and communities.

All profits from the purchase of Five | Six Textiles supports Five | Six Project programs.
